How can I obtain a gold key?

Gold keys can be crafted on the main island. When you open a reward chest, sometimes you can get small golden pieces of a key. Once you have enough pieces (at least 3), you can craft a key and then use it to unlock a special chest during your expedition.

You can also purchase a required gold key using gems.
